We currently have three parks located in the South Gateway Neighborhood.
Wes Bennett Park
2200 Baxter Road SE
This 4.4 acre property is adjacent to Pringle School. One of our newer parks, it was developed in 2007 and City Council changed the name from Pringle Park to Wes Bennett park in memory of the former City Councilor. As you can see, the splash fountain is quite popular! Other amenities include:
Picnic Table/Benches, Basketball Court, Play Equipment, Walking paths, Bike Rack, and Lighting
Sumpter School Park
590 Wormwood
This park is 4.4 acres and consists of the following items:
Play equipment, BBQ with ash cans, Multi-purpose Court. Paths and walkways, Ball Field and Basketball Court
This park received new school-age play equipment thanks to the efforts of the South Gateway Neighborhood Association, Salem Parks Foundation, and the City of Salem’s Park Improvement Fund. A special thanks goes out to Katrina Strand and LeaAnn Holley for leading the fund raising effort that helped make this happen!
Rees Park
